Unfortunately, either option seems to pretty much sum up the current state of Rams football pretty well.
Option one would have put a desperately-needed end to CSU's longest losing streak in 20 years, in historic fashion nonetheless. Option two saw the Rams lose arguably its best player to an injury that is starting to haunt the program in recent years.
I'm gonna go with the the ACL tear.

A loss is a loss, but you can't get too down when your team loses to a player with his own Web site (Cal WR DeSean Jackson).
But hey, at least everyone in attendance for Saturday's game can say five years from now that they saw "the 1 to watch" make one of his patented touchdown runs past a helpless defense.
Along with the return of Bell, Sperry was the biggest reason why Ram fans were excited about having things around this season in the Fort.
But like gargling warm salt water for a sore throat, a perfect remedy for curing the postgame Ram football blues exists: the CSU volleyball team.
Here's an update on the Moo U's best, most consistent varsity squad:
The Rams (5-3) swept though a second consecutive home tournament over the weekend, defeating CU-Boulder, Miami (Ohio) and Winthrop to capture the Hilton Classic.
Once again, junior middle blocker Makena Barnes led the way for CSU, taking home tournament MVP honors. For those who are keeping track, here's an update of the ever-increasing list of accolades the ThunderRidge grad has received through just eight matches:
- Coors Classic MVP
- Hilton Classic MVP
- Division I Player of the Week (Aug. 26-Sept. 1)
- Mountain West Conference Player of the Week (Aug. 26-Sept. 1)
- Mountain West Conference Player of the Week (Sept. 2-Sept. 8)

Nicely done. Only a couple of mechanics glitches.
